In addition to our many programs and services, NDHHS offers advocacy pertaining to communication access, access to education, vocational services, and more!

Our staff are committed to working collaboratively with community members and stakeholders to promote access to available programs and services; in addition to providing the appropriate resources for community members’ own self-advocacy. Through our local, regional, and state partnerships, we are equipped to provide support and resources to community members, tailored the needs of each, unique situation.

Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) prohibits discrimination and ensures equal opportunity for persons with disabilities in employment, State and local government services, public accommodations, commercial facilities, and transportation. https://www.ada.gov/

Disability Rights Center (DRC)

DRC-NH is dedicated to eliminating barriers existing in New Hampshire to the full and equal enjoyment of civil and other legal rights by people with disabilities. http://www.drcnh.org/

Governor’s Commission on Disability (GCD)

The GCD is actively involved within the disability community and the plethora of arenas touching the lives of individuals with disabilities and their supporters. https://www.nh.gov/disability/

New Hampshire Legal Assistance (NHLA)

NHLA’s mission is to fulfill America’s promise of equal justice by providing civil legal services to New Hampshire’s poor, including education and empowerment, advice, representation, and advocacy for systemic change. http://www.nhla.org/

New Hampshire Legal Aid

NH Legal Aid is a community of organizations and agencies dedicated to the ideal of equal access to justice. Working together, they provide a range of legal services to New Hampshire’s low income population. http://www.nhlegalaid.org/

New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights

HRC is a state agency established by RSA 354-A for the purpose of eliminating discrimination in employment, public accommodations and the sale or rental of housing or commercial property, because of age, sex, sexual orientation, race, creed, color, marital status, familial status, physical or mental disability or national origin. https://www.nh.gov/hrc/
