The ABCs of Early Literacy Skills

February 21 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The ABCs of Early Literacy Skills

Emergent literacy, or reading readiness, skills begin to develop very early in life.

Beginning readers need to know letter shapes, names, and sounds. This presentation will cover strategies to introduce letter names and sounds to your D/deaf and hard of hearing children to support their literacy skill development. The system introduced will provide visual access to the phonemes (“sounds”) of spoken and written language to develop these skills. Materials will be provided to use in the activities presented.
Workshop (ABCs of Early Literacy Skills) dates:
  • February 21st from 6:30 to 7:30
  • March 21st from 6:30 to 7:30
  • April 18th from 6:30 to 7:30
Workshop will be held online via Zoom Platform.  Please RSVP to register for the upcoming workshop.
